#TavistockGooseFair2023: A Cost Cloudy Day of No Geese

This was the exciting one, the weather was supposed to be good and how this was going to work out was a long one, my parents were aware I was going to sleep in the shop for this and for good reason the catch-up was going to be needed. But enjoy one more casual day of not so much interesting that happened to me but more exploring what the fair had to offer.,

The morning

So it led to me waking up around 9:00 ish, with a Snapchat of the good morning trip from this girl this was the final time we were going to speak because of some commitment that was not entirely agreed on and eventually the best idea was to forget about a said idea and actually that was moving on a quick chance after like 1 week of speaking just over. Especially when that person used an American location on her feabie later on, it was a red flag I avoided.

Once that was done, it was time to get prepared and packed a bit more for the all-nighter that was to come, since I would be making sure this project was going to be long, like it was going to be pushing me to limits I've not been aware of yet. That was then to go and make sure I was getting the right bits. Glass was charged, the Phone was charged up, the Laptop and charger were in the bag if needed and also the Tub of Gfuel which was going to be used quite a bit as that energy to get things moving.

But it was then 9:30 a.m. and finally packed and ready to go, a Bike sack bag was filled with clothes, the rucksack was full of Glass, the laptop and the tub of gfuel too. But then It was time for My sister to arrive at ours using her husband's EV. We greeted them with time to get things prepared, help move the pram back into the EV and time to drive off to a place of memories first.

We then parked near the old home and then got things out and ready to walk down, for me it was to walk to Spar and then split away from the fair to drop the stuff off to work. But like it will prepare for this vlog and unlike last year, I KNOW it will record first person.

I got into the shop and it was time to drop off and finalise the vlog for the night before to make sure uploading was ready Since it is 10 times quicker for VDSL 20 Mbps upload in the shop than Smarty on 4G for uploading. Which then that was done and it was nearing the 11am mark. So time to explore

So then it was time to explore

The Exploring:

So this was the first time back at a fair and the first time back using glass since the end of last decade. We started to walk towards the usual spot but this was going to be closed since the issue with the Cattle market was closed this year due to the avian flu so that cuts a bit out of the vlog for sure. But the crowds were ignoring that road which was less to worry about. So we started walking our way back to the square.

The view from looking towards the square

As walking by it's the repeat of last year but minus a smaller scale and more tat. But it then leads to the rides in the square, with no Ferris wheel, but a bouncy castle and carousel, plus the Funhouse and trampoline too.  But the sweets were back in force and still dry when exploring the bottom.

Then it was time to face the strip, so we started walking on ther right side, which had the Christmas tat and cards, then it was a bunch of small green marquees with local food stalls which showed things from the food side like garlic pork scratching which mum crept up behind me as I ate that, but that was not a nice flavour pork scratching for sure.  So my tummy was a bit hmm.  After that, I walked on to pas where the stardust amusements were, where the coin pushers were still there and the 2p was stuck in the pointers or rail. So that was sad. But it led to walking out and then seeing the Catley food truck having the big meaty deals.

But then it was exploring the middle parts which actually was not much, but more gaming stalls like Rifl,e and Ring toss, plus a literal rifle range was coming there too with BB guns that looked like proper glocks too. like for real that was an awkward stare too.  We continued on nearing the bus station, with some stalls of toys and plushes to the right, then perfumes further up. Then it was to see the traditional stalls for the bits and tools, which included a Bungie. But that was going to be for later on.

The Bus station had Sizzler

But then it was leading to head into the fairground. The temptation was there to take the helter-skelter, but the budget was not for me right now, especially with soon-on food ideas. But we walked to the fairground, it felt a bit empty but there were some crowds and the freakout. But it was a quick browse around.

Then it saw some customers of mine who wanted me to sort things out with their tablets and laptops later on, But they were looking at the game stalls, I was tempted by the dodgems but it was quiet and budget to save for again. It was 15 minutes later and it was soon time to carry on walking up the strip.

First, it go to see it pops by and it shows the main strip was to be the one, so we begin by passing more stalls like the Jewellery one and coming up was to be the slushie stalls which then leads towards where the park would enter from that, which there was yet another sweet stall.

Then it was keeping the stalls the common feeling but it was not acytually feeling the same in ways, but there were less Gypsy or tarrot readings for sure on it, But there was one further near the bus station, but Acora passed away from rumours i remember. Also the lego brick stalls were pretty good, even with imported

Then it was heading near the food and drink zone, which was getting neae the end of the strip, which food stalls were more aplenty here. So it lesads to exploring, which there was some artisan donuts, more chinese, more gin and even the chance when its finding out that a plan for a lunch was coming into motion.

The Bar and carvery was coming into the food zone which in the alaxnadra centre car park, Then it was seeing the bars and the live music out, the drinks were semi ok price wise but there were queues for those vans, shocking how the fries were like £8 for loaded fries.

This was then walking the part of the strip which gives some of the quieter vibes and also its style with the same pitches gine there from the years previous. Whcih was nice and then it was time to finally get glass charging up via the power bank I took in the pocket, the cabling was a bit tricker, But i mamaged to get it working.

The start to charging back up glass wise

A Donut Burger Plan back

Then it was coming to start to plan out the afternoon to my way back to the shop. The plan was going for the some of the way to find out, which for the vlog, making a posh artisan donut burger was a plan and little did i make sens of the fact there was actually going to be  like 1 donut stall like the artsian donuts in the entire of goose fair this year actually.  But we walked down to the strip  aka me and glass which it was getting on how we do this, and also the varying prices of food bans is £5 for a burger which is quite steep. But also the second was going to be the shortbread for suppliers in work for the ones that support work and there are some new changes this year which on who to send to, like a firm that sell me UGREEN bits.

As i walked my way back to the strip It was seeing more bits and the shortbread for 4 for £10 on the voxes, but as i was about to buy them, a friend of a friend come up to me ans gave me advice on the mutual friend about his mental health, wich that in itself took 20 minute and learned some things. Which then it was starting to rain as i was ready to purchase the boxes for £10.

More crowds

As i got back down to the square, it was seeing a old work neighbour with the hats stall, which we caught up and chatted, then it was starting to pour a little more and scrambling around for artisan donughts is not easy. But the burger stalls down this way were even £1 cheaper. Whcih means the meal of what i was planning was going to come to £15 not £16.

The Road and the stands #throughglass

So then it was heading to rush back up to get the artisan donughts, it was hacving to goe from one end to the other, Even I was going to be killing more time and trying to find the lunch.

Eventually it was time to get the aritsan donuts from the stalls called Dough bros which was the only Artsian Doughtnut stall. So I decided to choose the following for the 4 for £11 bundle:

  • 2 x Lotus Biscoff
  • 1 x Cookies and Cream/creme
  • 1 x Coffee Walnut
Now that planed it out, it was going to be the next step to get the burger. and this was the final part, with more browsing and the rain starting to come in more. Wcih then it was to go to this burger ban which has a cute blonde with a round  face and soft size served me. £4.00 for a burger with onions on a plain bap with no sauce since that was to combine the recipie.

Then it was time to go back to the shop and indulge on the burger since it felt nice to enjoy it. Since that was the next hour to then finally create and eat it before starting to finally gulp parts from a 2L bottle of sour chug rug gfuel to help keep the strength to make the edit.

Then once that was start,ed it ws 2:30 and time to really to get the editing done and the crunch time of 6 hours begins.

For then I'll let you catch up for the next part
